Pre-requisites for Enrolment to:
The Bed & Biscuit Doggie Daycare, Boarding & Spa

Safety, health and fun come first at The Bed & Biscuit. Every dog is evaluated and carefully screened before being accepted into our daycare and boarding programs in order to ensure a safe environment for all of our canine friends. The following pre-requisites must be met before a dog will be considered for enrolment consideration at The Bed & Biscuit:

  • Dogs must be at least 4 months old
  • All dogs over 11 months old must be spayed or neutered
  • Dogs must be friendly, social and healthy
  • Dogs must have proof of current vaccinations
  • Dogs must also be free of fleas and ticks and have had no communicable diseases within the last 30 days
  • Dogs must be on a flea prevention program during flea season (June - November)
  • All dogs must be evaluated by The Bed & Biscuit's staff before admittance into our daycare and boarding programs.

How do you Enroll?
Please fill out the following forms, then call us to make an appointment. Please remember to bring a copy of your dog's most recent, up-to-date vaccination records.

  • Proof of Required Vaccinations

Vaccinations are important for the health and safety of all the dog clients at The Bed & Biscuit. Consult your veterinarian regarding the proper vaccination procedure for your dog and be sure it is kept current. A photocopy of the following vaccination records will need to be provided upon enrolment, and every time they are updated.

DHPP

Distemper
Canine distemper is a contagious, incurable, often fatal, multisystemic viral disease that affects the respiratory, gastrointestinal, and central nervous systems. Distemper is caused by the canine distemper virus (CDV).

Hepatitis (Adenovirus)
Infectious canine hepatitis (ICH) is a highly contagious viral disease affecting the liver and other organs, and is caused by Canine Adenovirus type 1 (CAV-1). It is spread only among domestic dogs and wild dogs such as wolves, coyotes, and foxes and is not related to human hepatitis. Symptoms range widely, from mild to severe, and include nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, jaundice, light-colored stool, and stomach enlargement.

Parainfluenza
Canine parainfluenza virus is a cause of respiratory infection. It can be severe in puppies, geriatric and debilitated dogs.

Parvovirus
Canine parvovirus is a highly contagious disease that can infect the intestinal lining, lymphoid tissue and bone marrow.
     
Rabies
Rabies is a preventable viral disease that causes acute encephalitis (inflammation of the brain). The virus exists in the saliva of mammals and is transmitted from animal to animal or from animal to human by biting and/or scratching. The virus can also be spread by licking, when infected saliva makes contact with open cuts or wounds, and with the mouth, eyes, and nose. If left untreated in humans and animals, rabies is fatal.

Bordetella
Bordetella is the most common cause of kennel cough in dogs. It is a bacterial illness that is most common among dogs that congregate at things like shows, kennels or other places frequented by large numbers of dogs. This vaccination is required every 12 months.
